UNE MARINE UNIFIÉE & PERMANENTE
Par l’édit de Saint-Germain-en-Laye d’octobre 1626, Richelieu institue une Marine d’État,
permanente et organisée sous un commandement unifié.
17666-1788
UNE MARINE MONDIALE
Avec le tour du monde de Bougainville (1766-68), puis la vaste manœuvre stratégique imbriquant
la campagne des indes et la guerre d’indépendance américaine, la Marine devient mondiale.
1840- 1867
UNE MARINE D’INNOVATION
Pour se relever de la période révolutionnaire, la Marine innove : vapeur, 1er navire de guerre à hélice, 1er cuirassé, 1er sous-marin.
En Crimée, au Mexique et en Chine, certains de ces équipements font leurs preuves.
1956-1972
UNE MARINE NUCLÉAIRE & AÉRONAVALE
Après la 2nde Guerre mondiale, la Marine se reconstruit et devient l’une des rares marines
du monde à disposer de porte-avions. Elle assure la permanence à la mer de la dissuasion nucléaire.

- La maquette de La Couronne et ses 72 canons (médaille d’or)
- La maquette de la Comète et ses 28 canons
- Le diorama d’un chantier naval du XVIIIème et ses 200 personnages illustrant tous les métiers
1766-1788
- La Victoire, le Marquis de Lafayette et son aide aux insurgés américains
- Tour du monde du “Bordelais” 1816 – 1819 : 3 ans d’épopée pour ouvrir de nouvelles routes marchandes.
